Daniel 4-6

SCRIPTURE

“I issued a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. For he is the living God and he endures forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed , his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves he performs signs and wonders  in the heavens and on the earth. He has recued Daniel from the power of the lions.” Daniel 6:26

OBSERVATION

God wrote on the wall that Belshazzar was found wanting.  God humbled Nebuchadnezzar  until he renounced his sins, did what was right and acknowledged  God’s sovereignty.  Daniel possessed God’s spirit and had a reputation for being intelligent, insightful, and knowledgeable. He interpreted dreams and solved difficult problems. Daniel prayed three times a day and so was thrown in the lions’ den. Because of his trust in God he wasn’t hurt.  Daniel’s testimony told everyone that God uses his power as he chooses and no one can stop him or question what he has done.

APPLICATION

I am a poster child for Mene Tekel Peres. Daniel 5:26-28 My days are numbered. My good deeds could be weighed in ounces. I sit on the fence between the world and the kingdom of God.  The handwriting on the wall would say I am lost, but because I am engraved on Christ’s hands I am saved.  I gladly accept God’s sovereignty.

PRAYER

Father, thank you for saving me from myself, my sin, and my foolishness by sending your Son to redeem me.  You are an awesome, powerful yet merciful God. I am so much more like those kings you had to crush than your servant Daniel. Please continue to mold me and make me more like Jesus each day. In His Precious Name I pray.
