Leviticus 5; Psalms 3,4; Proverbs 20; Colossians 3

From the Lord comes deliverance. Psalm 3:8 (NIV)

A psalm of David as he flees his son Absalom. Reading Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him”, I couldn’t help but think of my early life in Christ. I was so excited to be a Christian and went out and bought a cross necklace and a Bible. Someone had said of me, “We’ll see how long that lasts.”

Fortunately, my salvation is not dependent on the jewelry I wear, my church attendance, or a list of nice things I do for others.

But you are a shield around me, O Lord.

Jesus’ death on the cross paid the penalty for my sin. And in that one moment of my belief, I reached for his hand and crossed from death to life.

Lord, you are my deliverer, my shield, my salvation. You made a way for me, pursued me my whole life. And the closer I draw near to you, the more I learn about you and the further in love I fall. With love I praise your name.
