Leviticus 10, Psalms 11-12, Proverbs 25, 1 Thess. 3

If you find honey, eat just enough– too much of it, and you will vomit.   ~Proverbs 25:16

Short and, uh sweet.  In his wisdom, Solomon had a profound reason for using honey for this graphic illustration:  Cadbury eggs and chocolate bunnies were not invented yet!

I often eat too much.  Sometimes it’s nerves and sometimes it’s just boredom.  If there are sweets in the house, I will find and devour them.  And I seem powerless to solve the problem myself.

With other struggles, I have found that the humility in admitting my weakness leaves me open to the help of God and godly people.  This, in turn, has led to victory.  I am coming to the conclusion that eating too much is one area where what I crave is help.

Honey (no pun intended),

If you are reading this, please move the Easter baskets from on top of the refrigerator.  The little ones might not be able to reach them, but I can.
