Leviticus 20; Psalm 25; Ecclesiastes 3; 1 Timothy 5

Cut off from their people, death, burned in fire, stoning, blood on their own heads. Reading Leviticus 20 really drives the point home that God detests sin … and the penalty for it is steep.

Sometimes the sin that wells up in me strikes before I have time to weigh the cost. Some days I feel smothered. Other days just sickened. A lot of times, frustrated. All my work trying to figure this out, my efforts so very weak and human.

The troubles of my heart have multiplied;
free me from my anguish. Psalm 25:17

Hope comes from a savior. From one who has paid the price. When will I stop relying on myself for solutions?

My eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only he will release my feet from the snare. Psalm 25:15

My heart fixed heavenward today, my eyes ever on the Lord, for guidance, instruction, forgiveness, mercy and love.
