2 Kings 19, Psalm 135 & 136, Hosea 12, Hebrews 1

It’s all about love.

Really, it’s only all about God’s love.

He loves. He created. He loves. He made a way to be reconciled. He loves. He’s making a forever home for us.

I’ve been plunked down in Psalm 136 for a week pondering and marveling at His wondrous love.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.

to Him who does great wonders, His love endures forever.

who by His understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever.

who made the great lights – His love endures forever.

the sun to govern the day, His love endures forever.

the moon and stars to govern the night: His love endures forever.

Psalm 136:1 – 9 NIV

And after a week of meditating on these 9 verses, what I find the most amazing, is that it is His love that compels Him. He is not doing “it all”¬† for a mighty¬† power-trip, but rather for love.

His love endures all things and endures for all time.

__________

Lord,

Thank you for your all encompassing, all enduring, beyond human comprehension love. Saying “thank you” doesn’t seem nearly enough of a thing to say to the God of the Universe who loves me so completely. I want to follow you every step of the way, through the good and bad. Thank you for being there to pick me back up when I fall, and for providing forgiveness through the gift of Your Son, Jesus…all because of love. You are so amazing!

Amen.
