“Hear from Heaven” – 2 Chronicles 6: 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 35, 39

“How long shall I cry, and You will not hear?” Habakkuk 1: 2

Whenever things are repeated over and over, they are important.  I was impressed at how often Solomon petitioned God to “hear from Heaven” in 2 Chronicles chapter 6 and then it was also important to Habakkuk for God to hear him.

We all want to be heard.  Our feelings, our ideas, our desires are important to us and we need to know that we are heard by those who mean the most to us; our parents, our spouses, our children, our friends and above all, our God.  When we speak to those significant others in our lives it is very apparent if they hear and if they care.  Speaking directly to them we get immediate feedback; an assurance that we’ve been heard.

But we can also be assured that our God hears us as well.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” ~ 1 John 5: 14

He hears us.  The Lord God most high hears us.

Father, I know that You hear me from Heaven.  Help me to pray according to Your will with all confidence that You are working for my good.
