Leviticus 18; Psalms 22; Ecclesiastes 1; 1 Timothy 3

The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to  them; ‘I am the Lord your God, Your must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices,  You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God,  Keep my decrees and laws, for who obeys them will live by them.  I am the Lord. Leviticus 18: 1-5

Application  and reflection of these verses just keeps me in awe of God’s plan for his children.  I used to live in Egypt (sin) and even though I have been brought out of Egypt I still live in this “world”.   Regardless; I am still expected to follow God’s word just as the Israelites were to do; not to live as I did before my salvation and not to follow the ways of this world.  For when I follow, submit and obey God’s instruction; that is how I will live in His will.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads;  “He trusts in the  Lord; let the Lord rescure him.  Let him deliver him since he delights in him.”  Yet you brought me out of the womb, you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast.  From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.  Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.  Psalm 22 6-11

Application  and reflection of these verses shows me the truth in which Christians are treated in the world.  We are mocked for our obedience and faith. But God is so faithful in that He loved me and knew me before I was born and it is this knowledge that assures me that God will never be far from me; He is always near.

Oh Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,

Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Then sings my soul, my Savior god to Thee

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

The sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee

How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
