“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep My decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, Who makes you holy.” Leviticus 20:7-8
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
Holy and Beautiful? Or Other ways?
Leviticus 20 – Lord, Your fierce hatred for sin causes me to fear You. You set Your Face against the person who turns to another god. There are so many “gods” in our culture. Those who defile themselves with another person you sanction death! Committing my whole being to You, to be set apart for Your purpose alone, help me to keep Your Word. Make me holy. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. I must continue to work out my salvation with fear and trembling, for You to work in me to will and to act according to Your good purpose. Phil 2:12-13 I am honored and delighted to be Yours!!
Psalm 25 – Holy Lord, show me Your ways and teach me how I should be. Guide me by Your Word and Holy Spirit. Beloved Jesus, You are my Savior in Whom I hope always.
“Good and upright is the Lord” Psalm 25:8 Thank you for eagerly wanting to instruct me in what is right by Your Way. I want Your righteousness to show so You will be glorified and draw all people to Yourself!! Matthew 5:16, Hebrews 13:20-21
Thank You for your loving faithfulness!! I need you all the time. I fall, sometimes unaware. Please forgive me for my iniquity through the Blood of Your Son Jesus Christ. I fear You enough to ask You how I may please You. Thank You for revealing Your will to me in so many ways. Your Presence brings Joy to my heart!!
Ecclesiastes 3 – Lord God, I have watched You change people before my very eyes. You give them freewill. You trust and respect them enough to let them reject You or turn to You and be saved from hell. You cause them to deal with You whether they are aware of it or not. You do this with me, too. I am grateful You have given me an insatiable thirst for Your Word so I might not sin against You as much as I would.
I am grateful for Time. You have it all set up. While You see it all in a FLASH – all at once, completed, I am graced to go through it one step at a time (no pun intended). Learning, leaning, falling, graced, picked up, put in place, moving by Your Holy Spirit, led by Your Word, watching, and holding Your Hand, repeatedly.
Only in this way can I ingest Your lessons, can I be deeply changed by You. Can I glimpse You without hurting my eyes. Only in this way can I have compassion on those who hurt me because of Your compassion on me who has hurt You repeatedly and so deeply. I am sorry.
Graciously You set eternity in the hearts of men so we would desire You! So we would see a glimpse of Your Infinite Magnificence. So we would know of our need for You, the Allmighty God. In our feebleness we can never fathom all of You, but You make us aware that we are accountable to you! “God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.”
Thank You for the honor of spiritual sight. You give this to all who ask – every child of Yours! James 1:5 Thank You for siblings who show me You so readily!! In their words, actions, attitudes and presence! I rejoice in Your Body!! What Love there is in Your people!! Thank You for loving us Soooo Potently!!
1 Timothy 5 – Gracious Master, You hear our prayers. You hear my incessant, persistent rapping on Your Door. (Luke 18:1-8) You honor my trust in You Who alone can make changes in the hearts and lives around me, including my own. You break me, yet hold me at the same time. (Psalm 34:18) Sometimes Your firmness leaves no breathing room. I am locked in Your embrace as You cause me to do Your magnificent Will. Other times I am free to leap, dance, and be “care free”. How beautiful it is being Your daughter!!
Continue to purify me – so I leave a trail of Your good deeds, obvious of Your Handiwork to make many insatiably desirous for You. Romans 11:14, Jude 1:23 I praise You my God and Father!
