Numbers 16; Psalms 52-54; Isaiah 6; Hebrews 13

And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory”  Isaiah 6:3

What a marvelous and strange passage is Isaiah 6! Isaiah seeing the Lord. Six winged singing seraphs. Doorposts and thresholds shaking. Isaiah’s confession, “Woe is me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips and my eyes have seen the King the Lord Almighty.” Isaiah 6:5

I love this God who is wild and uncontainable, this God who peels back the pretensions I mask myself with. Glimpses of Him causes me to understand who I am as I stand before Him. I have no business being before such beauty and holiness; I deserve to perish, right there, on the spot, but another wonderful mystery invites me to stay.

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess his name.” Hebrews 13:15

O God, may I be grateful for this privilege of standing in your presence through the grace you rained down on me. Why I get to be here is beyond me. May I sing back to you the wonder and joy that is in my heart. Thank you.
