You shall walk after the Lord your God and [reverently] fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cling to Him. Deuteronomy 13:4
Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice. Deuteronomy 14:26
Exalt the LORD our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy. Psalm 99:5
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4
I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, LORD, I will sing praise. Psalm 101:1
You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest or whirlwind shall scatter them. And you shall rejoice in the Lord, you shall glory in the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41:16
And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:
“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was …” Revelation 11:16-17
What a vision! Twenty-four men getting up from their chairs of authority and falling on their faces to worship. Abandonment for love. Giving it all up for the One who is and who was.
Clinging to Him. Willing to do whatever He commands, even the confusing tasks that make us different, vulnerable. Fulfilling our heart desires by purchasing treasures that we will ultimately feast upon in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Understanding that the world around us is material, carnal, tempting, and self-destructing. Believing that the Holy One of love and justice listens to our songs and words of praise. Knowing that during those times of voicing my love with worship, I am loved. I am valued. I am restored.
So I rejoice standing with hands lifted up or I may praise on my knees with my face to the ground, for it is in this attitude of worship where I am most present with God and He with me. Anytime, anyplace. So praise, rejoice, and worship!
