My glory I will not give to another.
Psalm 109:26, 27 —
26 Help me, O LORD my God!
Save me according to your steadfast love!
27Let themknow that this is your hand;
you, O LORD, have done it!
Isaiah 48:5 —
5 Therefore I told you these things long ago;
before they happened I announced them to you
so that you could not say,
‘My images brought them about;
my wooden image and metal god ordained them.’
God rarely gets the credit He deserves.
Instead people give their accolades to Fate, Nature, chance, coincidence, destiny, hard work, money, accident, or the unknown.
In the end, He will get the glory due Him. He won’t let it get away. We can’t hoard it or give it away. It is His and He will claim what is properly His.
When something amazing happens I want to pour out a grateful heart to Him. I need to let those around me know that this wasn’t luck or just the way the cookie crumbled. God has an intentional hand on my life.
If I recognize His control over blessing me, my heart will swell with gratitude for all He does. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him. A baby isn’t an accident. A promotion isn’t the luck of the draw. The provision of a new home isn’t an “interesting turn of events.”The phone call just when you needed it. The obedient smile of a child. Evenings of wonderful family moments. A car accident diverted. A passage of Scripture that fits too well.
God’s hand. Visible all around me if I take the moment to look and see it for what it truly is.
Thank you, God, for all of your amazing blessings in my life. Thank you for the little stuff and the monstrous miracles that you have used to shower your love on me over the years. You brought people into my life that were direct blessings from You. You were there to love and comfort in the struggles, and bless and encourage through times of growth. Thank you for making yourself obvious, and may I always remember to give You the glory due you. ~In Jesus Name, Amen
One response to “Deuteronomy 21; Psalms108,109; Isaiah 48; Revelation 18”
loved your post. funny, i was just commenting on a similar topic, on how at some point you realize that God must be in control and restraining, otherwise evil would overtake the world and we would simply destruct in no time. we can certainly take God’s goodness for granted! thanks for the reminder.
