Proverbs 13, 14, 15; Acts 2:1-21

“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Acts 2:21

I love the definitive nature of that verse.  Peter is very clear to the people listening.  He uses the words ‘everyone’ and ‘will.’  There is no cheviot or provision except for one.  Call on Jesus.  There is such security, such freedom in that.  Knowing that no matter what I do or say or don’t do or don’t say, I will be saved.

What I find amazing as well is the situation.  This is Jerusalem and this is a Jewish man speaking to all types of different people from all different heritages.  This is a big deal.  Living in the United States we might not realize it because we are such a diverse country.

What is also amazing is the way he is communicating, speaking so that each person can hear in there own dialect.  He is performing a miracle to attest that what he says is from God and true.  He goes on to prophesy about the signs and wonders that will mark the end times, reminding all of us that this world is temporary.

Dear Jesus,  Thank you that you paid the price for my sins in full.  Thank you for the freedom I now have to live out your plan for my life without that weight on my shoulders, that I can live without guilt or shame.  Help me to remember that you have offered this gift to everyone and that I need to share your light with the world the same way Peter did.  No judgement or preconceptions and with complete faith in Your power.
