1 Kings 21-22. Acts 14

But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me. 1 Kings 22:14

“Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.   Acts 14:15

They preached the gospel … strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. Acts 14:21-22

Speak valiantly in the name of the Lord.

Share the gospel.

When some spurn it, stir up distrust, speak evil,

Preach boldly about the Lord’s grace.

Allow God to confirm the message of grace with signs and wonders.

When people divide, plot violence,

flee.

Announce the good news in another place.

When miracles accompany the gospel,

people mistake messengers for gods,

attempt to restore restraint.

When violence threatens,

circle up.

Recover.

Return to the original place.

Strengthen and encourage the oppressed.

Pray and fast.

Turn believers over to the Lord’s care.

Jezebel turned fasting and prayer into a front for treachery and murder. Ahab traded the peace of his descendants for a dead man’s vegetable garden. Paul and Barnabas surrendered their security for truth that never dies.

Speak in a manner that multitudes believe.

  1. Great encouragement to not stay silent. I love the proverb style of wisdom reflected in your words, too. : )

  2. Thanks, but they are all Gods words just rearranged.
