2 Kings 19, 20,21; Gal 5

Christ has set us free to live a free life!… It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out-in no time at all you will be annihilating each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?” Gal 5:1,13-15

“True freedom = Love” Gal 5:14

Am I loving others like Jesus called me too? What is hindering me? I think of how many times I have lived in bondage from not loving others… sometimes because I am holding onto my own selfishness, fears, grudges, etc…This usually happens when I forget how much Jesus loves me. I am blinded by my own pride. But, when I remember how much Jesus loves me, I can truly live in freedom to love others.

“Faith expressed in love” Gal 5:6

I heard this song on the radio today….“Empty me of this selfishness inside, every vein ambition and the poison of my pride. Any foolish thing my heart holds to, empty me of me so I can be filled with You.”(Chris Sly) That is my prayer. Dear Jesus, thank You that Your love for me never changes. That You are the same yesterday, today and forever. Help me to be aware of your presence and love for me everyday, so I can be free to love others like you love me. Amen

“That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse.  We have more interesting things to do with our lives.  Each of us is an original.” Gal 5: 25-26

This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed His love for us.” 1 John 3:16
