Ex. 28; John 7; Prov. 4; Gal. 3

20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:20-23 NKJV

Solomon so eloquently wrote the thoughts that I as a parent want my children to listen to, understand, and live by.

I have two daughters both are good young adults, that is, they are not prone to getting into trouble. One seems to listen, understand and apply the life lessons we have attempted to teach them, while the other does not seek our advice, or seem to listen, or understand the lessons she has been shown. The difference in our relationships is night and day with the two, one seems to enjoy being in our company and seek advice while the other spends her time alone and sometimes seems annoyed that we want to be involved in her life. The future seems very bright for my daughter that seeks my consul but the foreseeable future for my other daughter seems that she will be learning things the hard way.

I feel like I have experienced both of these relationships with my heavenly Father. There have been times where I have sought to stay away from God’s presence and live by my instincts, in those times based on the feelings of isolation from my daughter, I can only imagine what God feels for me. I have also sought God’s involvement and  guidance and I feel that He must love it when I seek His wisdom.

May I always seek your companionship and guidance in all aspects of my life, for it is only in you that I experience true life.
