Lev 21; Psalm 26,27; Ecc 4; 1 Tim 6

My pastor says that eternal life starts now for the person that believes in Jesus. I can either start living that life with God that He has prepared for me now. Or I can come up empty, unfulfilled, and constantly wanting more. But, I hope to say, Lord, I want more of you…

A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough…

I read this blog entry from http://kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com/ . Katie left her dreams for her perfect life and at age 18 chose instead to move to Uganda and begin adopting Ugandan orphan girls off the street. Currently at the age of 22, she has fourteen adopted daughters and feeds hundreds more near her home….This entry is from Thursday Nov 29, 2007, “Someone asked me the other day, “Really? Is it really as great as you make it sound? I could never do that! Are you really happy?” For all of you who wonder, this is my response. You know what I want sometimes? To go to the mall and spend a ridiculous amount of money on a cute new pair of shoes. I want to sit on my kitchen counter chatting with my girlfriends and eat a whole carton of cookie dough ice cream…But, You know what I want more? ALL the time? I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day of my life.” I love her honesty. When it comes down to it, that is what I want to. I sometimes wonder…

What am I chasing? (Ecc 4)

But you, Timothy, man of God; … Pursue a righteous life- a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.” I Tim 6:1-15 MSG

Thank you Father that you meet me where I am. That I have the privilege of playing a part in your larger story. I pray that I would listen to your voice to know what that means for me. “Examine me, God, from head to foot, order your battery of tests. Make sure I’m fit inside and out. So I never lose sight of your love, but keep in step with you, never missing a beat…. I am confident I will see Your goodness while I am here in the land of the living” Psalm 26:2 &27:13 NLT.  Amen.
