Lev 21; Ps 26,27; Ecc. 4; 1 Tim 6

Again, I observed all the oppression that takes place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed with no one to comfort them. The oppressors have great power and their victims are helpless. So, I concluded that the dead are better off than the living. But most fortunate of all are those not born yet. For they have not seen all the evil that is done under the sun.” Ecc 4:1-3 NLT

The day before the bombings in Boston, my family and I were in Washington D.C. enjoying the beautiful weather and cherry blossoms. Only to hear about the bombings the next day and that the White House was on lock down. At that moment when I heard, I felt sad and defeated. I thought about how easy it would be for me to stay in a state of hopelessness and fear. I could choose to be anxious over bad things that could happen, or instead turn to God and pray…

What do I have to gain by worrying?

Just that morning in my bible study we read Philippians 4:6&7 ”Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Restored Hope

True godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all we brought nothing with us when we came into the world and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So, if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content…Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith…

Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you.” 1 Timothy 6:6-12 NLT

I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing; To live with Him in His house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate His beauty; I’ll study at His feet. That’s the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic. “Seek God,” my whole being replied, “I’m seeking Him!”Psalm 27;4-9 MSG

Dear Jesus, Help me to hold tightly to You…knowing that You love me and this world so much that You desire for everyone to know You. “Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13. Amen
