I am currently in a season of prayer. Our family is quite busy serving at church, working, raising our little girl, and preparing our lives to receive the blessing the Lord has told us is right around the corner. I believe I have been called to this season of prayer so that our family can be ready for what’s to come—both the trials and the triumphs.
God said that before new things happen, he will announce them to us. I believe that happens when we are listening for His voice. I have found the more time I spend with Father God, the more He reveals His path and plan to me. It’s only as I begin to see the glimpses He reveals to me that I come to understand this next scripture: “I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them,” (Isaiah 42:16). Compared to the glory of the Lord and all that He sees, I am blind. But because of His love for me, I am assured that He will not leave me that way. But I believe He will “lead” the blind, rather than fully opening our eyes so that we will be both fully dependent upon Him and to build our faith. I believe that if He fully revealed the path and plan to us, then one of two things would happen. 1) We’d tell God we didn’t need Him anymore and get to the final destination without Him, or 2) We’d tell God “No!” and still walk away without Him, but then not fulfill the plan He’d laid out before us, missing out on all the hardships, but also all the blessings.
Sadly enough, when trials come I know I’ve tried to choose option 2, even without knowing all that’s ahead. But I know my heavenly Father wants far more than that for me, which is why He vows to walk with us and protect us. He wants us to walk through the trials, to get to the triumphant glory that’s just on the other side.
Thank you, Father, for this season and this shift in our lives. And to You be all the praise and glory as we walk through to get to the other side! In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
