1 Kings 19; 1 Thess 2; Daniel 1; Ps 105

I have a friend who moved to the US from Africa 5 yrs ago. She left her family behind and came with her husband and four children. Her husband has since left & she is now alone raising four girls by herself in a country that she is still getting familiar with. She doesn’t have a car, but I have never heard her complain. Instead, she proclaims His goodness whenever she can. She just recently found out that someone is giving her a car! She is over-joyed by how God has provided for her. He is taking care of her. She can’t stop praising Him, not just for giving her the car, but for being her everything. One day when I was struggling I told her I was thankful that God put her in my life. She replied , “Yes, He is faithful!! One thing I am struggling with is I don’t think I thank Him enough!? He is too good!”

Do I struggle over that I don’t thank Him enough? Not just over what He has done, but for who He is?

Hallelujah! Thank God! Pray to Him by name! Tell everyone you meet what He has done! Sing him songs, belt out hymns, translate His wonders into music! Honor His name with Hallelujahs, you who seek God. Live a happy life! Keep your eyes open for God, watch for His works; be alert for signs of His presence. Remember the world of wonders He has made, his miracles, and the verdict’s he’s rendered-O seed of Abraham, his servant, O child of Jacob, His chosen.” Psalm 105:1-5 MSG

My 5yr old son was playing on the computer and opened some saved pages. As I started to close them I saw this….

The Names of Jesus

Jehovah-Yahweh – God our Salvation

Jehovah-Rap ha – The Lord our Healer

Jehovah – Jireh – The Lord who provides

Elohim – God of power and might

Dear Jesus, Thank you for those reminders that you send me at just the right time. Please forgive me for when I become complacent and forget all that You are and what You have done in my life. “You know the depths of my heart and You love me the same, You are amazing God.” Amen.

One response to “1 Kings 19; 1 Thess 2; Daniel 1; Ps 105

  1. wow. What an amazing testimony of faith and trust in Jesus and continued praise despite the trials your friend has undergone. What a blessing to have people and moments in life that cause us to truly ponder the things we have, question ourselves if we are truly praising Him for them, and be encouraged through their joy that only Jesus provides! That is really cool about how God provided a vehicle for she and the girls, especially when she was not complaining about it. GOD IS GOOD! wait..GOD IS GREAT, AWESOME, INCREDIBLE, MIGHTY, SOVEREIGN LORD! 🙂 Thank you for sharing this!
