I see it woven through these scriptures and my life…
I see it every time I walk past our Christmas tree,
a big orange handmade paper ornament that says…
God Keeps His Promises
“Here’s the reward I have for every conqueror, everyone who keeps at it, refusing to give up: You’ll rule the nations, your Shepard-King rule as firm as an iron staff, their resistance fragile as clay pots. This was the gift my Father gave me; I pass it along to you – and with it, the Morning Star!” Rev 2:26-28 MSG.
“This is God’s word: Don’t march out; don’t fight against your brothers the Israelites. Go back home, every last one of you; I’m in charge here.” And they did it, they did what God said and went home…By the time Rehoboam had secured his kingdom and was strong again, he, and all Israel with him, had virtually abandoned God and his ways…The leaders of Israel and the king were repentant and said, “God is right.” When God saw that they were humbly repentant, the word of God came to Shemaiah: “Because they were humble, I’ll not destroy them.”2 Chronicles 11:4&12:1-7MSG.
God Keeps His Promises
“The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word, the Word was God, in readiness for God from day one…The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John pointed him out and called, “This is the one! The One I told you was coming after me but it fact was ahead of me. He has always been ahead of me, has always had the first word.” John 1 MSG.
“I’ll heal the maimed; I’ll bring home the homeless. In the very countries they were hated they will be venerated. On Judgment Day I’ll bring you back home-a great family gathering! You’ll be famous and honored all over the world. You’ll see it with your own eyes-all those painful partings turned into reunions! God’s Promise” (Zeph 3:20MSG).
Dear Jesus, Thank you for caring about every little detail of my life and going out of your way to meet where I am. Your plan and ways are higher than mine. I am in awe of you. Amen.
