Job 21-22; Acts 10:1-23

It’s not you I’m complaining to-it’s God. Is it any wonder I’m getting fed up with His silence? You might say, ‘God is saving up the punishment for their children. I say,’Give it to them right now so they’ll know what they’ve done!…So what if you were righteous-would God Almighty even notice? Even if you gave a perfect performance, do you think he’d applaud?” Job 21:4,22:3 MSG

Job seems to be pointing out everyone else sins, how many times have I done that? If not out loud, than in my head. But, than I see my own. When have I turned to other idols and smaller gods? When God is calling my heart back to His.

There was a man named Cornelius…he was thoroughly a good man. He had led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, was always helping people in need, and had the habit of prayer. One day about three o’clock in the afternoon he had a vision. An angel of God, as real as his next-door neighbor, came in and said, “Cornelius.” Cornelius stared hard, wondering if he was seeing things. Then he said, “What do you want sir?” The angel said, “Your prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God’s attention. Here’s what you are to do. Send men to Joppa to get Simon, the one everyone calls Peter.” Acts 10:1-5 MSG

Help me to search for you Lord(Jer.29:13), like Cornelius searched for Peter and found him. I pray that I would be ready when You call me. That You would know I can be trusted to use for Your purposes. That my heart would be towards You.  I don’t always feel adequate, but am reminded by Beth Moore that, “The very area where I am most tempted to distrust You is the very place You have most chosen to trust me.” Thank You Father that in my weakness, You are strong.

Give in to God, come to terms with him and everything will turn out just fine. Let him tell you what to do; take his words to heart. Come back to God Almighty and he’ll rebuild your life…You’ll take great delight in God, the Mighty One, and look to him joyfully, boldly. You’ll pray to him and he’ll listen; he’ll help you do what you’ve promised. ” Job 22:26&27 MSG
