I was helping in my four year old’s preschool class. She was asked to be the line leader. She hesitantly moved to the front and was leading the kids in a song around the room. After a while she was walking slower than the kids behind her and ended up in the back of the line. It didn’t seem to bother her, because she likes to observe the other kids. But, I couldn’t help but think about how I get frustrated when it seems like I am being overlooked or butted in front of. I want to make sure that I keep my place in line so that I can get going with my life and I am not held up. I don’t like waiting. I was reminded to slow down, be patient, enjoy the moment. Jesus will take care of me. If He is all I need, than I am freed up to serve others and not try to get ahead of them. Instead, to really slow down to love them like Jesus loves.
I am thankful for a Father who never gives up on me. I can come to Him and He loves me unconditionally. Even when my faith is small. He shows me that He is the only one that can put new life in me. He is a God who still works powers and miracles even today. Sometimes it is by changing a heart.
