It seems that nobody could wrap their minds around this miracle. The disciples thought the man was born blind because him or his parents sinned. The pharisees were questioning Jesus. But, the blind man said, “All I need to know is I was blind, now I see.”(John 9:25). None of that other stuff matters, who am I to question God? .
Sometimes, I lose my wonder of God.
He wants to open my eyes to see Him more clearly, no matter what it takes.
What was once a miracle, gets dulled over time and I find myself asking for revival again…
“Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us!
Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” Psalm 85:4,6 ESV
Years ago, I went on a retreat where the speaker, Jennifer Rothschild, was blind. She has a disease that took away her her eye sight at an early age. She was an artist. I remember her vividly describing colors that she could no longer see. But she was thankful that God gave her that glimpse, so she would have it in her memory. Being an artist myself, I found it hard to wrap my mind around her story. She is an inspiration. I came across one of her blogs. And in it she says, “Physical Blindness is difficult, but spiritual blindness is far more devastating, Spiritual sight allows me to really see what is beautiful and good, When we get to see Jesus face, every earthly heartache and joy will fade.”
Thank you Father, for your patience with me. Now I look through a mirror dimly, but I anxiously await your return, knowing that my eyes will be fully open to see Your wonders. ” Amen.
