Song of Solomon 4-6; 2 Thessalonians 1

… a love so deep… our words fail to describe it!

Turn your eyes away, for they overpower me. Song of Solomon 6:5

When God sends us blessings, sometimes they are nearly overwhelming in their perfection, as the lover’s eyes were to her man. They were almost more beautiful than his heart could take.

In His uncompromising way, God desires only the best for us. With that desire always in mind, He goes to joyful lengths to make His blessings an ideal fit for each of us, particularly when it comes to love, which He takes very seriously, being love Himself!

Since God created marriage as a picture of His relationship with His church, it goes without saying that God puts the utmost care into creating our love relationships. He desires that our relationships and marriages exhibit such deep love that our partners are awestruck by His blessings. Through our marriages, He also wants to show an example of His love to a world that doesn’t understand its unconditional quality… to a world that starves for more than its own unsatisfying imitation of the real thing.

Whether God has already given us a spouse, is in the process of bringing two people together, has yet to reveal our true love, or simply wants us to know Him as our truest love, He wants to shower us with His unconditional, unlimited love. When we experience it, we won’t be able to fully comprehend its richness. Even so, it will have us praising Him endlessly, as the two lovers in Song of Solomon couldn’t find enough ways to express their feelings for each other.

Let us learn of God’s love… to lean on it, and to let ourselves trust it to guide us further into its unlimited blessings!

Heavenly Father… Your love is beyond our understanding, and we thank You for it. Please broaden our experience of Your love more each day so our ability to love grows more completely, and so others will be blessed by Your loving character through us. Amen!
