We are in the middle of the Lenten season. The passages today remind us of the events that took place. Passover is mentioned in Deuteronomy 16.
“And you shall offer the Passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, from the flock or the herd, at the place that the Lord will choose, to make his name dwell there.” (Deut 16:2 ESV)
Right after the Passover celebration of Jesus and His disciples, he was betrayed.
“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.” (Luke 9:44 ESV)
And because of His great sacrifice on that first Good Friday, we can rejoice in our hope.
“But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!” (Psalms 115:18 ESV)
As Steven Curtis Chapman sang to us at a concert recently, help us “remember to remember.” May we use this Lenten season to remember all that the Lord has done for us and be forever grateful.
