“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete , and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:7-13 NLT
When I tell my kids I love them I want them to know that my love for them doesn’t change based on their actions. I begin to see that that is how God loves me. I don’t have to earn his love. When I realize the depths of God’s love for me, I am free to love others. Even people that I don’t agree with. Oh, how Satan would want to steal my faith and hope away so that I become angry and bitter.
Is there anything hindering me from loving others well?
Is unity my goal?
Dear Father, thank you that you are a God of restoration. Thank you for hearing my prayers when I call out to you. I praise you for who you are. You are my refuge. Amen.
