Exodus 25-27;Psalm 90; Philippians 1

God is awesome and never ceases to amaze me. I have read Exodus 25 – 27 and I can see God starts off by giving an instruction to the children of Israel to bring an offering to Him, but God doesn’t stop there He was specific in two ways. First He wanted them to bring an offering with a willing heart and second He requested specific items from them. Pondering and meditating upon these aspects of the scriptures just make me realise that God uses it to set a similar template for us today in our personal relationship with God. So If I truly love the Lord, like He grave up His only Son I must be willing to give things that cost me to Him..and I’m not just talking about money, (although that is included) I’m talking about my time, my gifts and other aspects and areas of my life He may call upon me to give up for the gospel and for the kingdom. Like God was specific in Exodus 25 about offering, He could through the Holy Spirit speak to my heart asking me to give Him specific things or areas of my lives

In Exodus 25:8 God also asked the children of Israel to build Him a sanctuary because He loves them and wants to dwell among them. Once again God is clear about the specification of the Sanctuary and its decoration. God wants to dwell in me….I am His Sanctuary and my body is His Temple and God is specific about how He expects me to look after it too. For example renewing my mind with the word of God, getting good rest like He did on the seventh day which is beneficial for my mental and physical health and finally physical exercise which profits me as it ensures I am well enough to serve Him and to also enjoy live.

May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us –
    yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90: 17 (NVUK)

I see that the favour of the Lord upon me causes the works of my hands to be established and that gives me peace and assurance that all I need is His favour to perfect all that concerns me.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philipians 1:6 (NVUK)

God makes it clear to me here that it is He who started and will continue the good work of perfecting all that concerns me and ensuring I fulfill His ordained destiny for my life until the coming of Jesus.
