“And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies; do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’ Deut 20:3-4
- Israel is reminded again that God is with them and will fight there battles
- The Lord is He who goes with them so they don’t need to fear or be terrified because of there enemies.
God goes before us into battle, so I don’t need to be afraid. Sometimes in the midst of everything going on it’s good to be reminded that God is with us. Even though I’m not fighting a physical war, I am fighting a spiritual battle. I need that to be reminded that God goes with me and I don’t need to fear. I love these verses in the bible. They are Gods reminders to us of His protection and care. The Lord knows that we constantly need courage. As I’ve been reading I’m amazed how often I run across verses like this.
Dear God thank you for these reminders of your love and protection. Help me to remember that you go before me into battle every day. I don’t have to go it alone. Help me to remember that I need to put on your armor every day.
