Psalm 145:8-148:6

The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18 ESV)

Life is rough from time to time. Isn’t it comforting to know that the Lord is right there for those of us who trust Him?

Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.” (Psalm 146:3 ESV)

I have always had tremendous respect for the men close to me in my life. But they are just men, human like the rest of us, not perfect. They will eventually let you down. When one day you finally realize that only God can be counted on 100% it takes the wind out of your sails.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.” (Psalm 147:3-5 ESV)

Think of how mistreated Jesus was. He understands our emotional and physical pain better than anyone. And letting our human brains try to comprehend how He spoke creation into being and names all of the stars, it is so humbling and so comforting. He is all knowing and all powerful.

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon, Praise Him, all you shining stars! Praise Him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!” (Psalm 148:1-4 ESV)

May we all praise the Lord today!
