“He has told you oh man what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
What does it mean to “seek justice?” In my dealings with others do I try to do what is fair and good and what God would want me to do?
How about “loving kindness“? Do I choose to be kind to others whether they deserve it or not?
And then how do I walk humbly with my God? Do I start my day in Bible reading and prayer, all the while reminding myself how much greater He is than me?
This verse is sung in the Casting Crowns song, “Courageous.”
“We were made to be courageous
In the war of the mind I will make my stand (seek justice. love mercy. walk humbly with your God)
Lord, make us courageous
In the war of the mind I will make my stand (seek justice. love mercy. walk humbly with your God)”
Songwriters: Matthew West, Mark Hall.
May we all daily choose to seek justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Amen.
