“Some of the Jews however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the mind of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas. But, the apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. And the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders. But, the people in the town were divided in their opinion about them. Some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.” Acts 14:2-4 NLT
My mind can be like the Gentiles if I am listening to the wrong voice. I am in constant war between God’s spirit and my own humanness. Whose voice am I listening to? In what ways is my mind divided?
“While they were in at Lystra, Paul and Barnabas came upon a man with crippled feet. He had been that way from birth, so he had never walked. He was sitting and listening as Paul preached. Looking straight at him, Paul realized he had faith to be healed. So Paul called to him in a loud voice, “Stand up!” And the man jumped to his feet and started walking.”Acts 14:8-10 NLT
Lord, increase my faith. Thank you that you still do miracles today.
“God know people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith. Everyone listened quietly as Barnabas and Paul told about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.” Acts 15:7-12 NLT
Dear Father, thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray that I would have the boldness of Paul & Barnabas. I want to live in expectant hope of what you can do through someone’s life. And how you can change a heart. Thank you that you are a God who redeems, restores and re-builds. I praise you for who you are. Amen.
