So you want to read the Bible in a year? Me too!
Have you ever tried before and not finished? Me too–now heading into my eleventh year!
It’s great if you want to read the Bible in a year, and it’s fine if you don’t finish. I doubt that God is so concerned if this line item gets checked off. I think more than that, he wants to tell you about himself and about how much he loves you. His book is full of wisdom, encouragement, and life-changing words. And when you start to see it from that point of view, it’s a book you’ll never want to put down.
What is 66 Books? A “bible in a year” interstate book club made up of regular people who want to know God better. We aren’t looking for great theological revelations, but rather, personal ways to integrate God’s Word into our lives.
Can anyone participate? Comments are welcome and open to everyone. Be part of 66 Books on Twitter (66_books) or like us on Facebook and comment there too.
What if I fall behind? Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Instead of giving up altogether, rework your expectations. If you don’t read the whole Bible in year, reading some of it is better than nothing. Consider switching from daily to weekly reading.
YouVersion offers a free service to deliver the day’s scripture to your phone.
You can get a 66 Books post emailed to your inbox every day. Sign up in the right-hand side bar at 66 Books: delivered.
If you do fall behind, don’t stress over catching up. Just pick back up where we are.
