Psalm 48, Psalm 49, Psalm 50, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

God says: Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver. Psalm 50:22

For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 1 Cor 11:31-32

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:22-23

For if we would judge ourselves”. To judge myself means to examine my self, thoughts, actions, motives and words with the Bible. I must ponder the Law of God while asking and applying the Holy Spirit’s wisdom. I must discern if, where and how I have gone against the Holy God. If I examine myself and am honest, being without compromise, excuse, rationalization or blame of others, then God will make clear to me my faults and show me the Way out for His honor and glory. After I confess, agreeing with God about my sin, and turn away from it then Jesus cleans me. 1

If I do not examine myself and I have sin, I remain unworthy of communion and I cause God’s judgment upon myself. If I do not confess and repent of my sins, then I WILL BE chastened by the Lord. Jesus does this so that I will stop continuing my sins. If I stop my rebellion against God, I will not be condemned with the world. 2

Lord Jesus Christ, when my joy of You, Lord, is not full, I am sure there is something lurking within me. Please eradicate it. Take it out. Have me see, confess and repent of it, for Your cleansing, healing and fulfillment of Your good and perfect will in my life. Amen!  3

According to Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. … For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide Even to death. Psalm 48

Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for setting me Free! I praise You because of Who You Are!! The Great ‘I AM’ ! Glorify Yourself through my life. Number my steps according to Your Holy Will. Thank You for showing me mercy and giving me salvation through your unblemished Son of God, the Lamb of God, Lord Jesus Christ. 4

Why should I fear in the days of evil, When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me? My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding…  God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me. Psalm 49

Lord, Your Word has shown me that the days are evil. I praise You for teaching me and encouraging me to work out my salvation with fear and trembling so that You, Lord God will work in me to both to will and to do for Your good pleasure. You hide me within Your Priestly garments where I am safe and secure, peeking out to do Your bidding, hopefully as You command. I rejoice to be just Your child! 5

Lord God Almighty, the fields are ripe for harvest! Please send out Your workers to sow and reap for the salvation of souls, mightily Glorifying You! I love You – please have Your children love them with Your heart!  6

Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:22-23

I cry out to my God: I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34

Deuteronomy 20, Deuteronomy 21, Deuteronomy 22, Luke 6:1-26

Warfare and Healing

Deuteronomy and Luke present different facets of the same theme:

Principles Governing Warfare

In Deuteronomy 20 God gives orders of how to go to battle against your enemies.         “Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” … If there “is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest the heart of his brethren faint like his heart.”

Living under Christ’s command requires going into the difficult places in my heart, life, and in those of others; Being open to God’s Word and obeying His commands. Not being faint hearted but stalwart because the Lord Jesus Christ goes with me to set me and other captives free. Sometimes the territory gets Very large and the enemy seems Very fierce. The fainthearted near me debilitates me because he is without God’s vision. If I don’t wear the Word of God over my eyes and ears 24/7/365 I am UNempowered.

I need bold hearted men and women around me, especially at this time of my life. Prayer warriors who pray for God’s Word to be done. People of God’s Righteousness for God to live through them for the eternal benefit of everyone around them. For words of encouragement and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ Who IS the Victor!! I yearn to see and hear God’s Glory when I see so much carnage. I know it’s all so temporary, but I want God’s justice to turn people’s hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ! I am grateful to be that way, but I can grow weary in the battle. I am grateful for the bold hearted ones with me. I rejoice that Jesus has already won the War.

Israel is about to be engaged in war. Iran will be sending missiles to our shores. People will die, but where will they go? To Heaven or hell? Who will tell them the Gospel before their time is up? Lord send me!

Is it really that simple? Am I not to be despondent or to despair over what is coming? No, the Lord Jesus Christ says. The enemy will want me to feel “I am in charge”. What a proud arrogant lie! I rejoice in that Truth (that it is a Lie)!! Yippee!! I am free from the bondage of the responsibility for souls. But what AM I in charge of? Just being God’s daughter and following and loving the Lord Jesus Christ with my life each day. Step by step Jesus will show me His Great Adventure that I join. Whew!! Got through that One! May I live it another day by the Holy Spirit’s power!

In Deuteronomy 21-22, the Lord addressed laws regarding unsolved murder, female captives, firstborn inheritance rights, rebellions sons, immorality, sins deserving of death as well as commands to helping your fellow man and woman and not being unequally yoked. All of these deal with sin, captives of sin, and how justice and God’s righteousness can be executed well for His Glory.

In Luke 6:1-26 Jesus said, “The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” – Jesus declared Himself God and boldly chose to heal on that day, setting a captive free.  Later on, Jesus “went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He … chose twelve whom He also named apostles.” The Lord Jesus chose the men for His army.

Jesus continued setting people free: “He came down with them … a great multitude of people who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases … who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. … for power went out from Him and healed them all.”

In the Be-Attitudes, Jesus the set the priorities for God’s people who win in the Kingdom of God: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. … Woe to you who laugh now, For you shall mourn and weep.”

I fit right in. I look forward to when the Righteousness is Full and I can no longer mourn over the pain and suffering of people which is caused by sinful, wicked choices.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.  Luke 19:10

Exodus 27, Exodus 28, Mark 1:23-45

Please read at – www.BibleGateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2027,28;%20Mk%201:23-45&version=NKJV

Exodus 27     “You shall make an altar, the court of the tabernacle, a screen, the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually, outside the veil which is before the Testimony.”

The Old Testament sacrifice system is the foreshadow of the new, living and everlasting covenant which Jesus Christ fulfilled. Jesus is our sacrifice Atonement for our sins, past, present and future. Jesus is “the light of the world, the light of life.” Which can never be extinguished.  Thank You Jesus for taking the wrath of God for me!!

You Lord, tell me that if I follow You, I shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. AND that I am “the light of the world.” Lord Jesus Christ, I rejoice in You, the Light of my soul, path and heart!! I praise you for being God and over powering me by Your Love to empower me by Who You are!! May I desire You more and more greatly that You shine through every pore of me and pour out!! Please let it be so!

Exodus 28    You shall make holy garments, a breastplate, an ephod, a robe, a tunic, a turban, and a sash, the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD, and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the Lord, that he may minister to Me as priest.”

Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for asking me to come to You, that You would make me a new creature, Your child!! Thank You for being THE Royal High Priest so You forever intercede for me! Because of this, my God, make me honorable to You, fulfilling Your will to be “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”!!

Thank you for continually using Your Hand to mold me, shape me and change me to be how You desire, for only in Your blood stained Palm am I eternally safe, grateful and having Your joy as my strength.

Please dress me up in Your garb: Your honorable Armor, wearing Your righteousness! I can never forget that You won the war, but the battles rage on. Please save the rebellious people from hell and protect the persecuted church! Please! Thank You!

Mark 1:23-45  An unclean spirit, cried out, You are—the Holy One of God!”  “He commands and they obey Him.” He took her by the hand, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them. Jesus, moved with compassion, touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And he was cleansed.

Jesus, You are the King of kings Lord of lords.  You cast out demons, heal us by Your compassionate will, and for the purpose that we will serve You as You desire! Thank You for freeing us to have such an incredible position! I am humbled because I know no good thing is in me – but Only Good is You!!

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” John 14:12

Pondering – A repeated Old Testament theme, “You shall make”. But I cannot make Righteousness. Only the Lord Jesus can make me righteous. How I need to lean on Jesus to learn from Him for all I do, say, think, feel, etc – Holding every thought captive to God’s Word, so Jesus’ righteousness is visible!! What a quest! No wonder Jesus is our exceedingly great Reward! Genesis 15:1

Deuteronomy 30, Psalm 119:73-96, Isaiah 57, Matthew 5

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, … to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, … that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you.” Deut  30:15, 20

“Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:44-45

 Deuteronomy 30

My God and Master, You make my choices clear. I can whole heartedly follow and obey You, or not. “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.” V. 11 (Ha ha ha! You are not calling me stupid! Thank You!!)

IF I “obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” V. 2,10    THEN “The LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, … “ v. 9  —  I see this in my life Lord God! And I give You all the Glory, as is Your due!

I regret I was here before You changed me: “your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish;” v.17-18  Please continue to seek after the multitudes that are here right now. Soften and change them to draw near to You and You will draw near to them. Please use me and send many more workers into the ripe harvest souls field!!   Luke 15:1-7; Luke 15:10; James 4:7-10; Matthew 11:28-30; Matthew 9:38

Vs. 6; I yearn to continually hear and obey Your Voice, that I may cling to You Jesus, for You are my life! You lay out my freewill and freedom in Christ options. Only in Christ am I free to live the blessings You lay out.

2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Peter 1:23; John 1:12-14; John 3:5; Romans 8:1-2; 1 Corinthians 7:22; Galatians 5:1; Psalm 51:10; Ezekiel 11:19-20; Ezekiel 36:25-29

Psalm 119:73-96     The Word of God –

I cherish and delight in Your Word, Lord God! And I am comforted and cheered by Your people, those who fear You. V. 74,79 Your Spirit testifies between us that You are our God! You are in the midst of us when we are together! We sense Your Presence joyously! Romans 8:16, Matthew 18:20,

Thank You for faithfully afflicting me, to change me to be more Your desired vessel.  Truly, “Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.” I praise You Jesus for Your tender mercies which come to me, so that I live In You. I trust that You will  continue working on, in and through me so “my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes” v.80 Hebrews 4:12-13, Philippians 1:6

I praise You, Lord Jesus Christ, because “Forever, Your word is settled in heaven.” And “I am Yours”! v. 94 Thank You for saving me from hell!! Romans 8

 Isaiah 57

I finally understand, my Teacher, the difference between the wicked and the backslider. The first You cast to hell. The second is Your wayward child whom You correct to bring back to Yourself. You correct your own. Hebrews 12:5-11, Revelation 21:5-8

I know a “backslider” very well. Your Word comforts me, “For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid and was angry, … I have seen his ways, and will heal him… lead him, …restore comforts to him And to his mourners. … I create the fruit of the lips …”  v.17-19 I am a backsliders’ mourner, and I rejoice in Your Promise! Thank You Father!

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea,  When it cannot rest, … There is no peace,”  Says my God, “for the wicked.”  V. 20-21 The only hope for the wicked is to choose You through Jesus Christ and be transformed into Your Child. John 14:6, John 14:27, Ezekiel 18:32, Acts 3:19, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 5:6-11, Psalm 51, Colossians 3:9-10

 Matthew 5

Such a rich chapter! ~Only studying one section: my enemies.

Deuteronomy 30:7; Psalm 119:84-86; Psalm 119:95; Matthew 5:44-45, Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 32:35; Romans 12:19

Oh My Sovereign God!! I understand. You curse, judge and have revenge. That is NOT for me to do. And I, too, was Your enemy before You saved me by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore You command me to minister and pray for my enemies’ salvation. I am to do good for them to the point of them surrendering their sins to Your Son Jesus Christ. I am to love them as You direct for the Holy Spirit to reveal the saving knowledge of You, so they will be delivered from the evil one. When they are transformed into Your child, then I, too, will be blessed!!  And You, my Father, will be glorified!! Matthew 6:10

Lord God Almighty, enable and empower me to do as You command in all of these passages. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I would hear Your voice and do Your will for Your glory alone. I praise You Lord Jesus Christ!! Amen.
