Numbers 20, Psalm 58, Psalm 59, Isaiah 9:8-10:4, James 3

Numbers 20             Moses said, “Hear now, you rebels!” Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly – The Lord spoke to Moses, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

Not by Faith, but out of anger did Moses serve the Lord God. Therefore God was not seen as Holy by the witnesses. The consequence? No Promised Land for Moses. How many times do my emotions over rule my trust in God and His Word? How many witnesses of my words and actions have I turned away from God? How many ways do I circumvent Jesus’ Glory by my own self interests? How many “promised land” situations have I been cut off from because of this!? Jesus, I willfully, actively choose to think and act by faith and trusting Your Word/ Relationship so that I do not focus on what so easily ensnares me. (1)

Psalm 58 , Psalm 59, Isaiah 9:8-10:4, James 3 –

The wicked … go astray, speaking lies. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; The mighty gather against me, Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord. For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, And for the cursing and lying which they speak. Psalm 58-59

The tongue is a little member and boasts great things. The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. … it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. No man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men…  James 3

Lord, am I double minded and forked tongued? Do I say and do what I think and feel? Please have mercy on me and reveal to me my innermost motives, desires and Your Truth perspectives. If I do not yield to You, You will overtake me by wrathful force. (2)

Because of this, He shall take them away as with a whirlwind, As in His living and burning wrath. .. Consume them in wrath, consume them, And let them know that God rules in Jacob To the ends of the earth. … the Lord shall set up the adversaries against him, the Lord will cut off … Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts The land is burned up. Psalm 58-59, Isaiah 9:8-10:4

I fear both Your just judgment and wrath as well as losing Your peace, joy and intimacy in relationship with You. I confess to You the realty of my fickleness. I hate sin!

Who say in pride and arrogance of heart: “We will rebuild with hewn stones; We will replace them with cedars.” For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, Nor do they seek the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 9:8-10:4

I surrender to You, Lord Jesus Christ, my willfulness to do things my own way, as I see fit without doing Your Word and Holy Spirit counsel. I purpose my mind to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” and have my tongue, hands and feet move according to Your Holy Spirit. (5)

Your judgments are clear:

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed To rob the needy of justice, Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners, And they shall fall among the slain.” Isaiah 9:8-10:4

Yet You say FOUR TIMES in Isaiah 9:8-10:4

For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.”

You reach out to me and to all of us – Come to Me!” “For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!”  Rejecting my usual patterns, turning away from sinful relationships, not wasting time, not looking at useless information, abhorring addictions, habits and weak mindsets is Your Requirement for holiness! Step by step, day by day, I will live Your success by Your Way! (3)

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance;  So that men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth.” I will wait for You, For God is my defense. My God of mercy shall come to meet me; Psalm 58-59

Repentance’s fruit is Sweet! What Peace, Joy and Freedom to be unselfish and not needy when I walk in repentance! Repentance takes time, practice, pain without regret and a lot of work by Repeatedly Doing Your thoughts and Your Ways. But the Refreshment and Still waters are more than worth it!! Thanks my Mentor and Power, Lord God Jesus Christ! (4)

But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble. To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy. Psalm 58-59

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3

Numbers 4, Psalm 38, Song of Solomon 2, Hebrews 2

Read - http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Num.%204;%20Ps.%2038;%20Song%202;%20Heb.%202&version=NKJV

Numbers 4               Then the Lord spoke, “Take a census of the sons of Kohath, Gershon, Merari, Levites, … all who enter the service to do the work … but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.”

You know me, Lord. I am never hidden from Your sight. You number my days. You have prepared me to do service for You. I am to commit my way to You so You will do the blessing through me.

Working for You can be “deadly” if I ever take the glory because it is only due to You. No compliment, no esteem, no honor, no whatever can I accept without internally submitting that to You, Lord Jesus Christ. It is only under Your Authority and by abiding in You, that any eternal good can ever be accomplished.

Lord Jesus, keep my mind and heart fresh to hear Your thoughts as my first priority whenever anyone appreciates me. I want to hear You praised and glorified within my own heart, my Savior and Lord! That is my reward!

Psalm 38                   O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure! There is no soundness in my flesh Because of Your anger, Nor any health in my bones Because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head; I go mourning all the day long.

The price of sin is Enormous! The pain it causes far outweighs and outlasts any moment of illicit pleasure.  When I harden my heart, becoming stubborn in believing that “I deserve my unlawful pleasure rights” – I cause greater harm to myself and to those whom I say with my lips that I love; You Lord, my relatives, friends, and those who need Jesus yet may be led astray by witnessing an unfaithful Christ follower.

For in You, O Lord, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God. For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin. – O my God, be not far from me! Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!

Lord Jesus, I have sinned against You only – and gravely. My fear of man, distrust of Your Word, and attitude of self-will all speak loudly against You, Holy One. I choose to turn away, this moment, from “my rights” and submit to Your Rights, LORD. Take this situation which is before me, give me Your Word Perspective, fill me with Your Holy Spirit wisdom and power. See – I shall turn away from my familiar pattern and do Your counsel for You, Lord Jesus Christ!

Song of Solomon 2             The man about the woman, “Like a lily among thorns, So is my love among the daughters.”

Imagery – Imagine – Christ with His Bride, the Church, the Body of Christ! Thorns are those who are still Jesus’ enemy. I am a lily among those who are thorns. I am Your Love! What an honor to be loved and cherished by You, my Savior! My heart melts!

The woman about the man, “I sat down in his shade with great delight, And his fruit was sweet to my taste. … He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love….  My beloved spoke, and said to me: ‘Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away.’”

By Your Lovingkindness You draw me into Your Presence! Your unconditional Love overshadows all the ills in my life and overwhelms me. You always call me to stay in Your Presence. ~ ~ I rest in You, Lord Jesus. You refresh me like no other. I ponder Your Word privately, intimately, vulnerably. Your Holy Spirit gives me comfort, wisdom and holy perspective. Your Sweet Fruit I desire above all – the Fruit of the Holy Spirit and Your work.

I shall be faithful to You, Lord Jesus, my Betrothed. You are always beneficially honest with me for Your glory! Your everlasting love binds my heart, mind and all to You, my Beloved King!

My beloved is mine, and I am His. v.16

Hebrews 2                How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, and gifts of the Holy Spirit …?

No adultery! No neglecting the Great Salvation which the Lord Jesus paid for me! No betraying or rejecting the One Love that can save me and fill me with healing and wholeness!

But how am I unfaithful to my first Love? Who or what do I run to when I am upset, bothered and wanting to escape even minor “moody pain”? how many times have a failed? and harmed others in my wake? Do I first run to Jesus, the Word of God, and stay there? For Good counsel, comfort and wisdom to change my perspective and situation? Do my reactions have Jesus being the Fragrance people smell, instead of my own odorous ways?

Through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. …For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

I am free and empowered, indeed, to live for You! Thank You Lord Jesus!

“I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You. I will put My trust in Him.” v.13

Leviticus 17, Psalm 20, Psalm 21, Proverbs 31, 1 Timothy 2

The Lord spoke, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Read http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Lev.%2017;%20Ps.%2020,21;%20Prov.%2031;%201%20Tim.%202&version=NKJV

How grateful I am for You Lord God! You clearly tell me what is required to be clean in Your Presence! “blood atonement for my soul” And You provided it for me by the Sinless Life, torturous Death and Victorious Resurrection of Your only begotten Son Jesus!

Thank You for sharing the Gospel with me! Thank You for making it irrefutable that I was sinful and deprived of True Life and Love – and Undeniable that Your Son Jesus took the full Wrath of God that I deserved for everything I have ever said, done, felt, and thought that was against You and Your Word!

Lord God, I am soooo grateful that I am Your daughter! (1) Oh, thank You my God and Savior! I could never provide for myself the One Mediator Sacrifice! Yet You did this for me!

Psalm 20       Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. v.7

I had trusted in “chariots, and horses” by running from You! I had been fleeing from Your Presence, Truth, and Your Ways. I chose to trust my own mind, heart, emotions, and flesh – deceiving myself and manipulating others. I was in the dark, though the world saw me as a very “good girl”. I am glad I couldn’t fool You Lord God – for You see into my heart always! (2) And because of Your Great Love, You came to rescue me from my sin and death!

Psalm 21       Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. v.8-9

This was me! I was Your enemy! Yet You DID do Justice! You poured out all of Your Anger, Wrath and Vengeance for all of my sin!  You exercised Your Powerful Love and Mercy through the Lord Jesus Christ. You placed all the condemnation for sin upon Him so that I would not have to bear it forever in hell! (3)

Proverbs 31             Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. v. 30

I shall not to be fearful about my appearance but shall choose to live in the Fear of the Lord daily! Teach me, guide me, grow me, show me – fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I would live for you and please You here on earth and always!

Lord God – Help me to show others that True Beauty is purity of heart. Not the things that I have nor portraying a persona, but living every moment conscious of You as my Savior and Lord. That Truth brings me enough Joy to set my sails billowing full, to propel my ship through all sorts of waters!  (4)

Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power. Psalm 21:13

2 Chronicles 29, Revelation 15, Zechariah 11, John 14

Please read at –www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Chron.29;%20Rev.%2015;%20Zech.%2011;%20John%2014&version=NKJV

King Hezekiah was a foreshadow of Jesus the Christ Who obeyed His Father’s Will.  Hebrews 5:8, John 14:24, John 15:10, Mark 14:36, John 8:28

I am encouraged that if King Hezekiah could live well for God without the fullness of God’s Word and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, then surely I, with these eternal tools, can actively live under closer obedience to the living God in every area of my life! Luke 12:48

Disobeying the One Who “lives forever and ever” brings God’s wrath down from heaven. Yet nothing ever diminishes the glory of God and His power. (Rev 15:7-8)   (Luke 12:5, Matthew 23:33, Revelation 21:6-8, Galatians 5:16-26, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

“Woe to the worthless shepherd, Who leaves the flock!” Zech 11:17, Matthew 23:1-29, Luke 11:37-52, Jeremiah 32:6-9   I am challenged to not be worthless. By God’s account, I am a shepherd, part of the royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9, Joel 2:28-29) because I was transformed by Jesus Christ’s Atonement. Jesus Christ, the only Good Shepherd (John 10:1-30), was priced at “thirty pieces of silver” (Zech 11:11-13, Matthew 26:14-16; Matthew 27:3-10) for my redemption. Thereby I am given the ministry of reconciliation to be Christ’s ambassador.  2 Corinthians 5:17-21

I am accountable to the Lord God Almighty to not disobey Him: to take care of other Christians, to lead others to Christ Jesus, to give Light to the blind, Bread of Life to the hungry, and so much more!!

Tomorrow my family and I will celebrate the birth of the man-God Jesus (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-56, Luke 2, Matthew 2). God put on flesh and dwelt among us to show me the One True God (John 1:1-3, 14, 29, Hebrews 1:3). Jesus Christ died by taking the wrath of God that I deserve for every disobedience to the living God I have committed.  Psalm 51, John 3:5-21.

Because I trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life, I am in pain for all those I know who do not yet choose to come to the Father through Jesus. I earnestly pray for Jesus’ Words and Holy Spirit to transform their souls so His Work will be evident to and through them, for His Glory alone. I yearn for them to experience Jesus’ Peace, Hope and immeasurable Joy within their souls. << This is what I want for Christmas as a celebration of Your Birth, my Savior!!

Thank You for coming into my world, Lord Jesus, that You would bring me up to Your world eternally and forever! I love You! ~Your beloved child, Crystal

2 Kings 25, Hebrews 7, Amos 1, Psalm 144

The LORD roars from Zion, … I will not turn away its punishment, …  Because they… Amos 1

but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son Who has been perfected forever. Hebrews 7:28

Blessed be the LORD my Rock, …  the One in whom I take refuge, Psalm 144

www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Kings%2025;%20Heb.%207;%20Amos%201;%20Ps144&version=NKJV

2 Kings 25    “Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and encamped against it; … men of war fled at night …  they killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, put out the eyes of Zedekiah, … and took him to Babylon …. burned the house of the LORD … Judah was carried away captive from its own land.”

Judah would not repent (2 Kings 23:26-27, 32, 37 ; 2 Kings 24:1-4, 8-9, 17-20). The Wrath of the Lord is horrific! The king who “did evil in the sight of the LORD” saw evil in his own sight as his last view! What an emblazoned vision! What do my thoughts and actions bring before God’s eyes? May they not be evil rebellion against a Holy and humble God Who loves, cares and protects me tenaciously!!

Lord Jesus Christ, may I not trust men, governments or officials with my well being. May I not depend upon temporary people who rule as a replacement for Your Ultimate, Powerful and Trustworthy and Stable Dependability!!

Lord Jesus Christ please have our nation repent of its sins against You Who have so graciously and patiently blessed us!! I suspect the stench in Your nostrils may cause You to sneeze judgement upon us citizens because we ignore Your Word, Sacrifice, Will and Love. Lord Jesus Christ, cause us to repent to You so we will live! Awaken us to not grieve Your Holy Spirit! (Ephesians 4:25-32

Hebrews 7                For Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God,… the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. … there arises another priest who has come …  according to the power of an endless life… You are a priest forever… Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant …For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

Lord Jesus Christ, You are far more worthy than Melchizedek for my tithe. You paid the infinite price of my sin. I desire for Your gifts to me to produce the fruit of salvation within me and in multitudes of people. Please humble me to know You are God and I am not. You don’t need my talents, time, money or resources, but You command me to submit to You benefitting the Kingdom of God for a multitude of reasons! John 15, John 17:11, 15-18, 20-26 Thank You!! You honor me Lord God Almighty by Your desires!!

Amos 1          The LORD roars from Zion, … I will not turn away its punishment,…I will send a fire, shall devour, will also break, cut off, go captive, I will not turn away its punishment,…  To deliver, send a fire, shall devour, cut off, turn My hand against, shall perish … I will not turn away its punishment .. I will send a fire, shall devour, I will not turn away its punishment …will send a fire, shall devour, I will not turn away its punishment … I will kindle a fire, devour, go into captivity….

WHY??           Because they have threshed Gilead with implements of iron. Because they took captive the whole captivity To deliver them up … Because they delivered up the whole captivity … And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood. … Because he pursued his brother with the sword, And cast off all pity; His anger tore perpetually, And he kept his wrath forever. … Because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead, That they might enlarge their territory. Amos 1

Ruthless people are in treated ruthlessly by the Lord God Almighty UNLESS they repent to the One that can save them from God’s Wrath. May I not be wicked our even mildly thoughtless Lord God! Keep my mind, heart, words, attitudes and actions steady on You! Psalm 119:11

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalm 2:12

He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”  John 3:36

Jesus answered, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

Psalm 144            Blessed be the LORD my Rock, My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge

Where or to whom do I run when I fear? To the phone or to the Throne? To a substance or some other pleasure? How do I bury my feelings instead of bringing my innermost self to the Holy One Who can do something within and outside of me to handle “it”. (Psalm 51:6)  Do I run from God when I know I am bringing down His Wrath upon myself? Is that what I fear? Do I run from the Judge or surrender to the Atonement Who is the Lord Jesus Christ?

Bow down Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, Whose mouth speaks lying words,  And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood— Happy are the people whose God is the LORD! Psalm 144

Lord Jesus Christ, I wish my nation would pray this, but also within us are many liars. Make us a clean people of Your Own so we can rightfully be rescued! 2 Chronicles 7:14 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:33-34; James 1:22

I will sing a new song to You, O God; The One who gives salvation to kings,… Psalm 144

I will sing a new song because I am a new creation! I have a new Daddy, Papa, Father, Abba! It is You, my Lord God, Who rescued me from sin and death! You adopted me permanently!! Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ!! 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 8:1-17, Galatians 4:6, John 1:1-3,12-14, Ephesians 1:3-12, Galatians 4:1-7, 1 John 3:1-2,10, 1 John 5:2, Mark 10:15, Luke 18:16, John 3:5-8, 16-21, Romans 8:2, Romans 6, Romans 5:6-21

Humble is Knowing your Postion before the Lord God Almighty. =  LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow. Psalm 144:3-4

Numbers 31; Psalms 75, 76; Isaiah 23; 1 John 1

At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still. You alone are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry? From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet- when you, O God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land.  Psalm 76:6-9

We want a God who we fear, a God of wrath and judgment. Let me tell you why.

I belong to a liberal, secular women’s book club, the kind where you sip on your glass of Chardonnay, eat finger foods and discuss literature. When it was my turn to select the title, I chose Simon Wiesenthal’s The Sunflower.  It’s Mr. Wiesenthal’s telling of being chosen from his work camp’s detail to go to the bedside of a suffering, disfigured and dying SS officer who tells him of the horrific crime he committed against Jewish citizens. The officer begs Mr. Wiesenthal’s forgiveness. The rest of the story concerns Mr. Wiesenthal’s decision, and the book begs the reader to consider what he would do.

As humans, we demand justice.  Suffice it to say, my fellow book club members were incensed.  This SS officer deserved to die without forgiveness and had no right to even ask a Jewish man for forgiveness for crimes committed against other Jews. Then the spotlight turned to me. What would I do, the group’s self proclaimed Christian? I answered that I would be obligated to forgive because Jesus’ death on the cross was for all…for me, for the SS officer. Next to such a beautiful, just and righteous God, the officer and I are no different.  I need grace as much as I need justice.  My fellow readers wanted justice without grace. One woman actually said, “You don’t really believe that hogwash do you?” A few glasses of Chardonnay and these ladies will tell you what they really think.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. 1 John 1:8-10

Without judgment there is no grace.

Lord, I confess that I sit in judgment of others when I have no right to. May I step off of my throne to receive your grace with my brothers and sisters. Thank you that you and you alone are holy and just. Thank you for the power of your grace through the death and resurrection of your one and only Son. Thank you for how you work this in my life, moment by moment. Amen

Kathy
